May weather is usually very pleasant. The long hours of daylight and warm temperatures. There are tons of child-friendly activities throughout the state. I'm not aware of any accommodations farmhouse especially since much of Alaska is not arable. I would recommend the Mat-Su Valley. The Mat-Su is unique growing region of Alaska.
