The eleven cultural groups in Alaska are represented here in color, with ancient traditions, lifestyles and wisdom to share in-depth for all to see. The main objective of the Alaska Native Heritage Center is to help indigenous people to maintain a link with their heritage and improve intercultural experiences.
Welcome From the House, the Alaska Native Heritage Center is spread by feed everything and anything that has made the lives of indigenous people over time. Facilities outdoors are all exploration and presentation of the news, while inside the Welcome House, you will find different methods of presenting contemporary Alaska. The Alaska Native Heritage Center offers everyone a single place to explore and experience the natural way of life.
The Alaska Native Heritage Center, built in 1987 as a nonprofit organization promoting the community and its activities. It is now accepted as a cultural meeting place throughout the state, organizing events, exhibitions, events and theatrical performances regularly. The center includes the Public Space, which hosts dance events, games, stories and demonstrations based on native culture, and the Casa de la Cultura, which has several works by Alaska Natives. The theater section is for all types of films, including those produced by their own Heritage Centre. People, landscape, climates and regions are portrayed in these movies.
Six authentic native housing areas are outside the center, lakeside Tiulana. As part of the Alaska Native Heritage Center, houses enter the native lifestyle long ago. The indigenous groups are represented Athabascan, Aleut, Alutiiq, Eyak, Haida, Inupia, Yupik, Tlingit and Tsimshian. Guided tours for visitors and liberal photography sites, artifacts and structures are permitted. The whale bones on the site Inupia exhibition is very popular.
