Has anyone been to Alaska recently? Specifically Anchorage?

I'm thinking about transferring to Achorage with my work and I need some information good on that area. I can find a lot of things online, but real people not things. Thank you.

Eric, I've been to Alaska in Anchorage and a while ago for summer vacation. It was a great tourist experience, but would not blindly move there. "I can suggest that you first go there to visit, perhaps summer and winter, which I think will give you a realistic idea if they can live there. Talk to locals, do some fun things while there, but with care would focus on how to live and work there. Good luck! Sue
