Eagle Wings
Why is it if one sets their eyes on laboring for riches, riches will make themselves wings and fly as an eagle?
Proverbs 23:4
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
this is about not being able to take a thing you have in this world (wordly possessions) with you when you die.
A that man thinks that getting rich quickly is the right way in his own mind and heart, has looked at the riches of others with his eyes and desired to have the same thing, he will work from sun to sun and run his health down trying to keep up with the jones. But when it comes to his time to meet God, will he be worthy of his reward in heaven? He put so much of himself into getting for himself material things that really have no value when you weigh them against the value of your soul. His greed caused him to lose his reward in heaven because he did not have the discipline to control himself.
worldly riches cannot elevate one to heaven.
