Does anyone have any idea of real estate market in Alaska?

I do not think the foreclosure problem has affected this area as well as other in the 48 areas. Curious to know another investor / owners on their successes or failures in the purchase of real estate in the Anchorage area.

If you are shopping in Anchorage, the price of a starter home is 225-300K. The market here is not good, not bad either. Anchorage affordable housing is difficult to achieve. The problem of exclusion in mid-1980 had not been successful, and I do not think it will. You can still get good deals on houses in Palmer Wasilla, but will be making the long journey which will cost an additional $ 1,500 (annually) drive by the gas! Hope this helps to make a decision.
